Embrace Your Sexy

If waist trainers, plastic surgery, lip fillers, fake lashes, and extensions are your thing....by all means, go for it! But I am so tired of people going to the extremes to fit into the societal perception of what "sexy' is. Does sexy mean that you have to have a size two waistline, a fat booty and perky breasts? Does sexy mean spending your paycheck and the next person's paycheck on the latest trends and styles that truthfully you don't even like? Does sexy mean wearing uncomfortable clothes just to fit into the mold of what's "in"? Too many people are lacking self esteem because of these unrealistic expectations of what they should look like. Pay close attention, sexy is a representation of self. It is not a reflection of size, but a manifestation of how a person loves and carries themselves.
I've seen the voluptuous woman, the thin woman, the athletic woman, the petite woman all try to change who they are to fit into the "Kim Kardashian" window of sexy. (I only used Kim Kardashian because I know we ALL know who she is.) Now bless Kim and her big butt and thin legs. But really, as beautiful as she is, there are women of all different shapes and sizes and exotic beauty trying to conform to her body shape. I must say....I even thought about buying a waist trainer at one point; until I done a self check.
I have an athletic body. Size A cup bra, muscularly built legs, a nice size butt, no hips, a stomach that chooses to be flat some days, and other days I have a little gut, I stand at 5'3". I would look in the mirror and say..."I wish I had bigger boobs, I wish my stomach had that "coke bottle cinched waist" I wish I had a little bit of hips. Good grief, In all the "I wishes" I was neglecting the beauty right in front of me. Instead of saying "DAMN GIRL YOU SEXY", I stared at my body complaining about my "inadequacies".
As women we need to embrace exactly what we were blessed with. I am not advocating for laziness or unhealthy decisions, but it's more so loving the skin and seeing your version of sexy in the mirror. To all my ladies out there, no matter what shape or size, we all have sexy deeply rooted in our DNA. You just have to learn to embrace it....
